Why this event matters

How can renewable energy support Tanzania’s industries, businesses and everyday services?

Tanzania Renewable Energy Week 2026 will explore this question through technical visits, training, an exhibition and conference. Hosted by the Tanzania Renewable Energy Association (TAREA), in partnership with Tanzania’s Ministry of Energy, the event takes place from 10–13 November 2026 at the East Africa Commercial & Logistics Center (EACLC), Ubungo, Dar es Salaam.

The programme connects renewable energy with industrial development, clean cooking, energy efficiency and electric transport. Local manufacturing and technology localisation also feature, alongside discussions on women’s and young people’s participation in the energy transition. These themes connect the technologies on display with questions about how they are produced, who can access them and how businesses and communities use them.

For suppliers, manufacturers and organisations working on energy access, Tanzania Renewable Energy Week 2026 offers a programme spanning policy discussions and practical learning. Investors, researchers, government representatives and technical teams are among the audiences identified by the organisers. Participants can explore the event as visitors, delegates, exhibitors or sponsors, with different requirements for each activity.

Programme and participation

Technical visits on 10 November focus on renewable energy, local manufacturing and technology localisation. Training and further site visits follow on 11 November. Both days require separate registration.

The main exhibition and conference take place on 12–13 November. Sessions address clean cooking, productive uses of energy, industrial development, energy efficiency, inclusion and electric mobility. The week closes with a gala dinner marking TAREA’s 25th anniversary.

Consult the official event programme for the scheduled activities.

Exhibition entry and general sessions on 12–13 November are free, with no registration required. The optional delegate pass covers the full conference package and a seat at the anniversary gala dinner. The listed rates are TZS 300,000 for TAREA members and TZS 500,000 for non-members.
